Our Client is an established property investment consultancy firm who have been around for a quarter of a century. They provide acquisitions and transaction support to a number of clients looking to invest in the UK property market. They are looking to take on an Agency Surveyor to join their dynamic team and growing ‘sales’ team.

 

The Role will include the following duties:

  • Assisting and working alongside the two Directors in the business.
  • Sourcing land, developing and investing opportunities that can be marketed by networking with the existing database of land traders, land buyers and developers, and by utilising the in-house databases.
  • Undertaking residual appraisals and derive an estimate of land value. This will involve researching comparable evidence, planning potential and making reasonable assumptions in respect of exit values, build cost, financing costs and profit requirement.
  • Visiting potential sites and sites for sale (invariably in London) in order to gain a thorough understanding of the opportunity and to then be able to sell the opportunities to potential purchasers.
  • Preparing sales particulars for development opportunities to be marketed for sale.
  • Meeting with and speaking on the phone with vendors and purchasers.
  • Working with purchasers to understand their investment aspirations and seek opportunities best suited to their business objectives.
  • Proactively selling opportunities to the purchasers using the extensive database and your own contacts.
  • Utilising the database to match applicants with opportunities and to speak with potential buyers about development or investment opportunities that suit their requirements.
  • Negotiating the sale of a site, and to work with the vendor, buyer and solicitors through to exchange of contracts.
  • Networking with existing clients and to forge new relationships in the industry.

 

The Person must have at least 2 years of land and/or development experience and have a solid understanding of the London property industry. You must have knowledge of the planning system and development appraisal software and have excellent communication skills with a confident telephone manner and good written English.  The ideal candidate will be MRICS qualified with an outgoing, positive and approachable personality. The incumbent must be able to develop relationships internally and externally with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Having good negotiation skills and some experience in dealing with property transactions is also preferable as well as being highly organised with good time management skills.
