Our Client is a successful property developer and they are known for investing opportunities through management and construction internationally. As the company continues to expand, they are looking for a Financial Accountant to fill in for day to day bookkeeping for their Luxembourg office.

The Role: The suitable candidate will hold the following responsibilities:

  • Handling monthly, quarterly and year end closings to ensure timely LUX statutory and IFRS reporting in accordance with corporate deadlines.
  • Ensuring that accounting practices comply with LUX GAAP requirements.
  • Performing bank reconciliations.
  • Uploading invoices and maintaining the invoice register for LUX domiciled companies.
  • Processing expense claims and business trip claims and assigns codes in line with internal rules as well as processing payments.
  • Recording invoices and preparing batches for posting.
  • Resolving accounting queries with the creditors and utility suppliers therefore reconciling them into respective account statements.
  • Liaising with external service provider for payroll for the LUX companies and maintaining bank files.
  • Verifying items billed against items ordered and received and reconciling differences and collating data for compliance.
  • Providing information to external auditor which includes annual audits, transaction audits and tax advisors.


The Person MUST have at least 3-4 years’ experience in accounting, ideally from another real estate, development or construction firm along with a degree in accounting and/or finance. They should also have articulate understanding of LUX GAAP/LUX tax as well as IFRS. The candidate should also show that they can overcome challenges which improve methods within the working environment.
