Purchase Ledger Assistant-Central London

Our Client is a well-established property development and investment firm who have been investing in Central London for over 50 years. They are a dynamic and commercial company who are continuously growing their commercial and residential property portfolio. They are now looking to take on a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their accounting team.

The Role:

  • Sorting, coding and matching invoices.
  • Ensuring the purchase invoices are processed.
  • Obtaining authorisation for the payments.
  • Making BACS or online payments on a weekly basis.
  • Reviewing and verifying invoices and check requests.
  • Preparing and processing electronic transfers and payments.
  • Preparing and performing cheque runs.
  • Filing CIS returns.
  • Assisting with VAT calculations.
  • Reconciling accounts payable transactions.
  • Verifying contractors’ status with HMRC.
  • Liaising with the HMRC for tax purposes.
  • Assisting with VAT calculations.
  • Filling some statements/returns with Companies House.


The Person must have a good, solid experience of purchase ledger processes and have knowledge of working for a property development and investment company. The applicant may be AAT qualified or ACCA PQ, but this is not essential.  Strong interpersonal skills and communications are needed to join this growing and busy team. Experience of a property management system such as YARDI, MRI, QUBE or similar is essential as are general IT skills. This is a good opportunity to work for an established property organisation.
