OUR CLIENT is a specialist investor and developer who are a part of an international institution and are established but now going through an active period of evolution and expansion – as a part of that they have created a new dedicated Accounts Receivable role to join their already established accounting team. The role will primarily be responsible for billing residents / ‘customers’, some arrears and credit control related work and some supplementary treasury responsibilities.


The ROLE: Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the following:

Accounts receivable:

  • Managing and carrying out an up-to-date billing process for each revenue category.
  • Maintaining customer files and records for the purposes of ensuring accurate billing.
  • Generating and sending out demands and invoices for service charge, ground rent, rent, restaurant and other items.
  • Corresponding with customers.
  • Collecting and allocating payments
  • Processing and posting sales ledger journals.
  • Performing account reconciliations and resolving payment discrepancies.
  • Reporting on debtor aging and managing collection of overdue balances in conjunction with finance and sales colleagues.
  • Carrying out month-end close and year-end close of relevant ledgers and fulfil reporting requirements.
  • Supporting migration of relevant balances to a new general ledger.

Treasury:

  • Managing banking services and facilities.
  • Managing banking systems, including money transmission systems.
  • Bank balances reporting.
  • Monitoring cash flows and maintaining rolling forecasts.
  • Performing bank reconciliations.
  • Updating cash books on the accounting system.
  • Carrying out ad hoc treasury and banking duties.


THE PERSON: We are looking to shortlist a candidate with at least c2-3 years of experience in accounts receivable (sales ledger) preferably gained within the property sector and with practical bookkeeping knowledge incorporating sales ledger, rent receivable and cash and service charges. It is essential that you are a confident Excel user as well as being conversant with other Microsoft Office tools. You are expected to be a great communicator (verbal and written) and enthusiastic about the role. It would be advantageous if you have experience working in a multisite organisation. The role will suit someone with good attention to detail; who is able to multitask and prioritise their workload effectively.
