OUR CLIENT is an independent and successful non-bank finance business; offering private debt finance for property developers. Their aim is to fill the financing gap left by banks and traditional credit providers that have receded from the European credit markets as a result of increased regulation and the global financial crisis. As they continue to grow, they have solely instructed us to help them appoint a Financial Controller to manage a small finance function in their London office.
THE ROLE will involve directing external fund bookkeepers, liaising with investor clients and their finance departments, calculation and recording of fund level activities and managing external audit processes of both company itself and the funds it advises. The successful candidate will undertake the following tasks, but not be limited to:
Fund vehicles
Internal finance
Providing supervision / assisting in preparation and review of:
Loan book reporting, administration, management
Preparing with assistance and reviewing:
Regulatory and compliance
THE PERSON: To apply you must have prior experience in finance, specifically in private debt / equity, investment management or investment banking – real estate experience will be seen as strongly advantageous, and you should possess previous exposure to fund vehicles. It is essential that you are ACA / ACCA qualified combined with solid relevant technical skills and ideally exposure to risk, compliance and regulatory controls You should be used to working in an SME / medium sized - corporate and “hands-on” environment with broad exposure (as opposed to large fund finance department / narrow exposure). You must possess excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. You will be offered to work 2 or 3 days from the office going forward as the company is adopting hybrid working. Our client is looking for someone interested in mid to long term commitment and to help them continue to grow.
