OUR CLIENT is an established real estate business with a vision for transforming assets with local communities – One such project is an iconic landmark site with the aim to create a new estate able to provide local people and visitors with not only all the necessary services but also everything required for a modern lifestyle and wellbeing. As the site approaches completion, our Client has solely instructed us to help them appoint an experienced Estate Finance Director who will recruit, lead and manage a small finance team to run the estate and all of its associated rent and service charge accounting, credit control and purchase ledger management. The Estate will emerge as a transformed destination with offices, F&B, entertainment, restaurants, hotels, and much more spread across acres of London and attracting millions of visitors a year.

THE ROLE: as the Estate Finance Director you will be expected to undertake bellow listed, but not limited duties:

  • Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on the financial performance of the estate operating businesses, maintaining close contact with the finance teams of each business.
  • Supporting the Estate Director in growing revenues, commercialisation, new business launches, tenant liaison.
  • Being day-to-day contact with financing banks for the provision of loan compliance monitoring data, and settlement of interest payments.
  • Once the development finance team rotate away from the project, the role will extend to overseeing corporate accounting for the PropCos, tax and VAT compliance, relationship with auditors.

THE PERSON’S REQUIREMENTS: as an Estate Finance Director you will need to have experience in building a team and implementing a property system to manage the rent roll, issue rent and service charge demands etc., and in creating service charge budgets.

Essential Skills:

  • A strong understanding at a strategic level of the services that will need to be delivered on an Estate with a significant service charge.
  • Understanding the complexities of managing mixed-use properties and venues, from listed buildings, to live music, exhibition venues, bars, restaurants, offices and well-maintained and accessible public realm.

Essential Experience:

  • Management of a significant landmark, mixed-use estate.
  • Management of directly employed team and outsourced service providers.
  • Managing significant and detailed service charge budgets.
  • Utilisation of the property management system.
  • Being technology aware and proficient in its use in all areas of the property environment.
  • Exceptional Excel and cash-flow modelling skills.
  • Member of a management team at a leadership level.
