OUR CLIENT is well established and growing privately owned real estate business and Family office, with a successful property portfolio UK wide. They have solely instructed us to help them find an experienced Financial Controller to join their small but established Finance Team to work in their offices in North London.


THE ROLE REQUIREMENTS:  As Financial Controller you will act as head of finance and report to directly to the Director, and will be a key point of contact for clients, suppliers, accountants and other third parties. The main responsibilities of the Financial Controller will include:

  • Reporting management figures (profit & loss / balance sheet / variance to budget).
  • Preparation of accurate financial information for accountants and external auditors.
  • Preparation of annual budgets and revised forecast.
  • Monitoring Cash Flow and bank reconciliations.
  • Accurate and timely payments to suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Oversight/review of work performed by Managing Agents and ensuring reflected in the company accounts.
  • Design and implementation of financial systems and controls.
  • Review and oversight of service charge budgets and accounts.
  • Preparation of tax returns (e.g. VAT) and payroll submissions.
  • Handling miscellaneous enquires from banks, HMRC, Insurance and any other duties as required by management.
  • Providing advice and counsel as necessary.


THE PERSON REQUIREMENTS:


  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) with around 5 year’s PQE.
  • · Knowledge of the property industry and VAT property rules are essential.
  • · You will be pro-active in your capacity as a Financial Controller and seeking to drive efficiencies.
  • You will be comfortable using Xero or a similar accounting system and possess solid Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of QUBE property management software would be an advantage.
  • You will possess strong communication skills.
