Fund Accountants x 2 (6 and 12 month Contracts) Real Estate -Surrey

OUR CLIENT is a highly reputable and award-winning, multi-national Real Estate investment management firm whose focused on long-term investments as well as providing investment solutions on behalf of their clients across the globe. They have considerably grown their Real estate business across the last decade and they are now looking to bring in two Fund Accountant on an initial interim basis. One will be on a 6-month fixed term basis, the other will be a 12-month contract.

THE ROLES - will see either individual reporting directly to the Manager, with the primary function being to prepare annual and interim financial statements for a wide range of funds with different legal statuses. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing interim and annual financial statements for a range of Investment Trusts and OEIC funds.
  • Ownership of a defined set of funds of varying complexity and size, completing regular reviews substantiating material income and expense balances.
  • Preparing reporting packs for the external Investment Trust Boards including review of income and expense forecasts.
  • Liaising with the auditors, tax specialists and Depositary/Trustee on certain issues.
  • Preparing of external returns for the funds including VAT returns and Loan Compliance.
  • Resolving of audit queries and reconciling positions to Depositary statements.
  • Keeping abreast of industry and technical developments.

THE PERSON - Must be a part or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or equivalent) , with solid, previous experience of fund statutory reporting and financial accounting, as well as demonstratable understanding of investment entities or OEICs - IA/AIC SORP would be advantageous. The candidate should also have excellent written and oral communication skills, they should be prepared to work independently and within a team with maximum efficiency and an ability to meet strict deadlines.
