OUR CLIENT are a real estate arm of a successful global investment organization, and one of the largest real estate investment managers in the world. Their mission is to generate attractive returns and future-proof companies. As the business continues to grow, they are now looking for a Fund Analyst to join their fast-growing real estate investment team based in London and portfolios invested across western and central Europe.

THE ROLE: This role is focused on the European investment funds which are pursuing a value add/opportunistic pan-European investment strategy. Successful applicant will be expected to undertake below listed, but not limited duties:

  • Overseeing third party service provider in respect of quarterly updates to non-logistics fund models and KPI calculations for fund / investment reporting – managing delivery of work and resolve any questions raised during the reporting process.
  • Co-ordinating non-logistics quarterly fund reports and bespoke investor reporting, working with both internal teams and external parties.
  • Reviewing and importing historic ‘actuals’ data across all fund models.
  • Creating new fund models using existing frameworks (as required) and updating the models on a quarterly basis thereafter.
  • Overseeing enhancements/updates to Anaplan based fund models and Power BI dashboards.
  • Co-ordinating the integration of real estate data from other systems such as Investran, Yardi, MRI, Argus, Excel, for use in Anaplan and Power BI to reduce manual re-working of data and ensure one source of truth.

Fund modelling and reporting:

  • Working with Investment Team to ensure the Excel investment models cater for the output required by Anaplan.
  • Ensuring consistent and accurate KPI calculations / cashflow reporting.
  • Reviewing fund returns and KPIs for reporting purposes.
  • Coordinating quarterly fund modelling, fund reporting and bespoke investor reporting

Systems development:

  • Conducting continuous improvement of fund models and KPI calculations within Anaplan, working with our third-party Anaplan consultancy firm.
  • Assisting with the aggregation / integration of data into Anaplan / Data warehouse from other real estate related systems.
  • Integrating real estate data / systems to those used by company’s central functions to ensure one common source and aligned outputs.

THE PERSON: to be considered for this role you must be dynamic, focused Analyst / Accountant with at least 8 years’ experience, part of which should be in a fund/investment modelling role. You should possess an understanding of the commercial aspects of real estate investment and be able to adjust to working in a highly entrepreneurial but professional environment. You will be able to demonstrate strong Excel skills, experience working with Anaplan and other real estate property management systems such as Investran, QUBE, YARDI, MRI, ARGUS would be beneficial with ability to distil large amounts of data into simple formats. You will be able to communicate and work effectively with people with a wide variety of skill sets and of all levels of seniority. Interpersonal skills are key.
