OUR CLIENT is a private family office who have been investing in office space across main cities of the UK and US for around many years. They offer a flexible and intimate working environment. Due to further expansion, they are looking for a Property Financial Controller for their UK business.
THE ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES for the Property Financial Controller will include:
- Preparing the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the UK real estate portfolio.
- Performing variance analysis and budget forecasting.
- Overseeing all aspects of the property accounting including service charge accounts, budgets, rent rolls and maintenance of the lease schedules.
- Reviewing and making sure the tenant ledgers have been reconciled, handling any payment queries and ensuring all rents / services charges have been collected.
- Liaising regularly with the external managing agents and asset managers.
- Submitting VAT returns.
- Liaising with advisors in relation to corporation tax.
- Reviewing and ensuring submission of statutory accounts.
THE PERSON and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS for the Property Financial Controller will have:
- At least 10 years of experience in property accounting.
- Strong IT Skills including the use of Excel and an accounting system.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and help grow the team.
- Understanding / experience of UK accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP is desirable).
- Experience / knowledge of operational real estate is helpful.
