OUR CLIENT are a growing and expanding firm of Chartered Surveyors in Central London and they are looking for a Senior Client Accountant to be the No.2 to the Head of Finance to join their accounting team and manage the commercial portfolio.

In this role, you would be required to maintain stakeholder and client relationships on an accounting front and contribute to the wider team vision and ethos of the organisation.


THE ROLE will involve:

  • Responsible for managing the service charge team and functions of both commercial and residential properties.
  • Managing the client reporting and service charge accounting for a portfolio of commercial clients.
  • Attending client meetings.
  • Responsible for preparing year-end service charge accounts, budgets and reconciliations and liaising with Auditors on any queries.
  • Performing cash reconciliations of both service charges and rent ledgers for properties.
  • Preparing yearly cash flows on a quarterly basis in order to maintain a positive cash level.
  • Preparing VAT returns and submitting to HMRC.
  • Preparing bank reconciliations.
  • Assisting the property managers to prepare budgets and loading to the system.
  • Setting up new clients/properties/suppliers/tenants etc onto the system.


THE PERSON: To apply, you will have a minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a Commercial Client Accountant and have some experience of managing a small team as well as a good, solid knowledge of preparing year-end service charge accounts. The successful candidate will possess good, solid numerical skills and be proficient with one or more Property Management systems such as QUBE/TRAMPS/YARDI/MRI/PROPMAN etc. A confident approach is essential with the ability to work on your own but also a willingness to offer solutions and improvements to the current systems.
