CBRE reports that investors have ploughed £1.6bn into student accommodation in the first nine months of the year.


They have been attracted by better returns than from office and retail property. The investment in student accommodation comes on top of a bumper 2012 when £2.7bn was poured into the sector – an increase of 145% on the previous year. The sector showed total returns of 9.95% in the year to September.
