OUR CLIENT are a high-growth, private equity backed real assets platform and seeking a Financial Controller to join its expanding finance team. The business is pioneering a new, sustainable asset class - integrating acquisition, development, and operations across a pan-European portfolio supporting sustainability. With a growing portfolio of operational sites and £millions in committed capital, this is a pivotal time to join.

THE ROLE:

Join a fast-scaling, entrepreneurial platform at the forefront of real assets and clean infrastructure investment. The role offers exceptional exposure to complex, cross-border transactions and the chance to shape the finance function of a growing institutional platform. This is a newly created, senior finance position overseeing an international portfolio (and related SPVs), this role will optimise outsourced accounting, reporting systems, and financial processes while acting as a strategic partner to the COO/CFO and leadership team. Responsibilities span financial management, reporting, FP&A, treasury, audit, valuations, tax and compliance, and transaction support.

  • Overseeing portfolio financial management, reporting, loan structuring, and outsourced accounting providers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Partnering with leadership to deliver financial insight, analysis, and performance interpretation across assets.
  • Ensuring accurate, compliant accounting under UK GAAP/IFRS and manage timely audits with no major issues.
  • Leading preparation of statutory, board, and investor reporting.
  • Driving FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in collaboration with Asset Management.
  • Managing treasury, cash flow, and lender reporting, ensuring liquidity and covenant compliance.
  • Overseeing valuations, tax, and compliance, optimising structures and maintaining full regulatory adherence.
  • Providing financial and tax support on transactions, mitigating risks and ensuring optimal structuring.
  • Enhancing finance systems, controls, and reporting through digital and process transformation.

THE PERSON:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with at least 4/5+ years’ PQE.
  • Background in real estate investment management or private equity.
  • Strong technical skills in UK GAAP/IFRS and multi-entity structures (SPVs).
  • Proven experience managing outsourced providers and driving process improvement.
  • Strategic and commercial mindset with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • European exposure and additional language skills advantageous.
