Fifty-seven per cent of surveyors said house prices climbed last month, the latest snapshot from the RICS shows.

The proportion of respondents who reported increases was the highest for 11 years. Chartered surveyors acted in the sale of an average of 20 homes in the three months to October – the highest number since 2008. Levels rose in almost every region. Surveyors said a lack of homes going up for sale was causing problems.
