Rightmove has reported the average London home has broken through the £500,000 price barrier for the first time.

 

The average asking price of £509,870 is more than £16,000 higher than a month earlier and compares with an average asking price across England and Wales of £249,841, which is also a record. Camden, in north London, has joined the elite property club in the capital alongside Westminster and Kensington where the average cost of membership is more than £1m.
