More sellers are finding a buyer within a week of putting their home up for sale than at any time in the past ten years.

Rightmove reported a 125% jump in homes sold subject to contract within seven days of coming to market compared with last year.

An analysis of more than 200,000 properties sold between July 8, when stamp duty was cut in England and Northern Ireland, and August 31 found that one in five three-bedroom, semidetached homes was sold subject to contract within a week.
