This is Aidan's brief story:

In March 2010, although never having picked up a basketball before Aidan was forwarded by his school PE teacher to participate at a Herts County trial where he was selected to represent Hertfordshire and went on to Captain the team and at the same time was approached by a scout for Hertfordshire Warriors, a leading National League basketball team to, see if he wanted to go to a few training sessions and join them as they felt he was talented and they could help develop him. Aidan started training with them and the County team pre-season in 2010 and although 'raw' because of his commitment and hard work he started to stand out. He joined the team and was also selected for the East of England region at the inter-county tournament.

From there he went on to be selected for the final East of England regional team and was again made Captain and went to Lilleshall to represent them at the inter-regional tournament. At the end of the tournament between the 10 regions he was selected as one of 20 boys in the country (from well over a hundred) to join an England development and talent programme and he was also highlighted to join an APC (Area performance centre programme) for talented basketball players that was held 9/10 times in the following year. Later In 2010 He was invited to an England development camp in Bristol with 1996 born children and from there he went on to represent England at U15 level.

Being relatively inexperienced he has only achieved this through much dedication and hard work, only made more challenging by the fact that he is a Coeliac and has to maintain a strict and supplemented Gluten free regime. He can often be seen shooting baskets and doing his training on the school tennis courts (as Gym / basketball courts are unavailable) in the pouring rain and cold. As his need to develop and stay at the top of his game has increased, so have his training, conditioning and travel requirements.

Trident have committed to sponsoring Aidan to allow him every opportunity that his talent will allow him to realise his short and long term goals.
